What's new in Butler - April 25, 2026
π§ Production stability fixes
**Dark mode.** All pages (/create, /task, /corrections) now respect your system dark mode. Text, inputs, bubbles, buttons - all legible in both themes. **Back button.** Task pages now have a β back button in the header. Navigate back to home without using the browser back button. **Butler acknowledges your request immediately.** "On itβ¦" appears within 1 second of submitting a task. Before each slow operation (browser automation, phone calls, research, email), Butler posts a status update so you know what it's doing - no more staring at a blank screen for 3 minutes. **Delete tasks.** Type `delete` + Enter on any task page (active or finished) to permanently remove it. Confirmation required before deletion. **Duplicate messages fixed.** Butler was occasionally posting the same final message twice. Fixed by making all message writes idempotent - retries no longer create duplicates. **Cart-filling reliability.** Butler now logs in to your account BEFORE adding items to shopping carts on sites like Instacart. Previously, items were added to anonymous sessions that didn't persist to your real account. Butler also now verifies that what it claims to have done actually matches what the page shows - if the cart is empty but the agent says "added 4 items," Butler will flag the contradiction instead of reporting false success. **Live updates.** Task status (Running β Done) and new Butler messages now appear without needing to refresh the page. Added a polling fallback in case realtime drops.
