What's new in Butler - April 21, 2026

✅ Butler tells the truth about what happened

When a website task doesn't actually succeed - the agent gets lost, bounces off a login wall, or hits an unclear error - Butler now says so instead of reporting a confident "task completed." You'll always know the real state of your request.

🔐 Better detection of login walls and payment pages

Butler recognizes more site layouts as "needs your account" or "needs your card" - including sites in other languages, sites with custom wording, and checkout flows that don't use the word "checkout." Fewer tasks silently dying at invisible roadblocks.

📞 Longer phone calls supported

Phone calls that involve long hold times or menu navigation now have more time to complete before Butler steps back. If a call is still going after several minutes, Butler is honest that it's still in progress rather than implying you should check back manually.

✉️ Emails now always come from trybutler.xyz

Butler's outgoing emails are now guaranteed to send from the verified trybutler.xyz domain - no more risk of emails landing in spam due to an unexpected sender address.

🛟 Tasks that fail now tell you what went wrong

When a task fails after retries, Butler now posts a message to the chat explaining what happened and inviting you to retry or give new direction, instead of leaving the task silently stuck.

🐛 Fixed: "sign her up" / "sign me up" no longer gets ignored

Butler used to only recognize "sign up" or "signup" as triggers for registration actions. Natural phrasing like "sign her up for camp" or "sign me up" now works as expected.

🐛 Fixed: phone numbers dictated as a single string now parse correctly

"Call them at 14155551234" (no dashes, with a leading 1) used to mis-parse. Butler now handles all common phone formats. ---
